The Fairchild PT-19, a revered World War II military trainer, remains a beloved choice among scale model pilots. Seagull's meticulous attention to detail, from the accurate color scheme to the intricate scale add-ons, ensures that this ARF captures the essence of the iconic aircraft. With its stable flying characteristics and rich history, the PT-19 continues to inspire aviation enthusiasts worldwide.

History of 110" Fairchild PT-19

During the onset of WWII, the U.S. Army Air Corps sought trainers that could adequately prepare pilot trainees for high-performance fighters. The Fairchild M-62, equipped with a Ranger 6-440 engine, emerged as a solution. Designated as the PT-19, it boasted flight characteristics mirroring those of combat aircraft, outclassing biplane trainers. Subsequent versions, including the PT-19A and PT-19B, were ordered with increased power and additional instruments for instrument flight training.

Our PT-19, housed in our hangar, holds a piece of history as a former RCAF PT-26, built by Fleet Aircraft in Canada in 1943. Post-war, it was refurbished for civilian use, symbolizing the aircraft's adaptability and enduring legacy.
